We are seeking a meticulous and analytical orthodontic student or resident to assist in auditing a orthodontic treatment plan and the associate negative and complex outcomes ie, identifying occlusal discrepancies (centric relation–centric occlusion (CR-CO) discrepancy), etc.. along with and proposing corrective solutions for complex case.
Position Summary
We are looking for a dental student in a recognized orthodontics program (or recent graduate) to review patient records where initial treatment has resulted in unresolved occlusion problems. The successful candidate will analyze diagnostic records (photos, X-rays, models) to identify why the previous treatment plan did not result in a stable occlusion and provide solutions.
Key Responsibilities
-Case Analysis: Review complex, failed, or transfer cases to assess the quality of current occlusal relationships (e.g., anterior open bite, posterior crossbite, improper molar relationship).
-Treatment Plan Evaluation: Evaluate if prior treatment planning was comprehensive and properly documented, identifying discrepancies that caused functional issues.
-Problem List Formulation: Develop a prioritized problem list (skeletal and dental) to address the root cause of the current malocclusion.
-Clinical Recommendations: Propose detailed, evidence-based orthodontic solutions (e.g., finishing techniques, use of auxiliaries, or potential orthognathic surgical intervention) to fix occlusion problems.
-Documentation: Assist in documenting the findings for clinical review.
Requirements
-Currently enrolled in an accredited orthodontic residency program (3rd or 4th year preferred) or a recent Orthodontic Specialist graduate.
-Strong understanding of functional occlusion, biomechanics, and orthodontic finishing.
-Strong expertise in dentofacial orthopedics.
-Experience in analyzing patient records, including digital scans, cephalometric X-rays, and clinical photographs.
-Meticulous attention to detail.
Renumeration
-Candidate will be paid fairly. Not a Salaried Position.
-Case review is time sensitive and immediate attention to case review is needed.
-Can be done remotely.
